About

Who are you contracting? My name is Andrew Kuchel. I grew up in rural South Australia, where time outdoors wasn’t just a pastime, it was a way of life. My interest in precision shooting began with archery and developed through competitive shooting, taking me to national and international competitions. Recently, I won the 2026 IPSC Rifle and Shotgun National Championships in Tailem Bend and the 2025 Championships in Bendigo, adding to previous national titles and state championships across handgun, shotgun, and rifle disciplines. This experience reflects the focus, precision, and discipline I bring to every job.

Professionally, I’ve worked across technical trades and leadership roles in defence, marine, and automotive sectors, including quality assurance, WHS, and production management. I take a hands-on, practical approach whether managing complex operations or working directly in the field. Fleurieu Contract Shooting Services is based in Fleurieu Penisula, South Australia, however I also travel within South Australia, and interstate for pest management contracts.

I specialize in feral animal management, delivering safe, discreet, and highly effective pest control across urban and rural properties. I hold a full range of firearms licenses and permits, including night-vision and thermal optics for night shooting. Every operation is documented, with GPS tracking and photographic records of controlled species.

Outside of work, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and building things with a purpose. Whether it’s modifying gear, restoring vehicles, or exploring the outdoors with my two sons, I value creating tools and systems that solve real-world challenges.

I’ve always believed in doing the job right and doing it with purpose.

Video Stories

This is the time of year foxes pair up and begin filling their dens to feed their growing families. Unfortunately, that often means newborn lambs. If you've seen fox activity around your property, now is the time to act before losses start to mount. Fleurieu Contract Shooting Services Professional fox control across the Fleurieu and surrounding districts.

Foxes start pairing up from March through May, with cubs born around August to September — right when lambing kicks off. That means more foxes on the ground and a big increase in hunting pressure just as lambs are most vulnerable. They’ll take newborns, weak lambs, and afterbirth, and once cubs arrive, both adults are feeding the den — so the killing ramps up quickly. The key is timing — hit foxes now, before they breed, and you reduce numbers when it matters most during lambing.

Part of working nights is seeing wildlife just being wildlife. Foxes were active on this property, but the contract was for another species, so they were left undisturbed. What lives on a property, and how it’s managed, is the landholder’s call. My role as a contractor is to work to their wishes, not make that decision for them.

I was called in to address a significant rabbit problem at Callington Recreation Park, where nightly activity was causing damage to the ovals. The initial plan was a staged approach — ground shooting, followed by warren ripping and baiting. Over three nights, thermal scans were taken prior to each session. As shown in this video, rabbit numbers declined significantly with each visit. Following the program, feedback from the committee was clear — rabbit activity had dropped to the point where warren ripping was no longer required, and the baiting program was cancelled due to the reduced need and associated labour. A total of 172 rabbits were removed across the three nights. The outcome was simple: effective, targeted control achieved the result without the need for further escalation. “Now it’s hard to find any.”

Fleurieu Contract Shooting Services attended a three-storey residential property in South Australia to address a significant feral pigeon infestation. The roof structure had become heavily contaminated despite existing deterrents, including roof spikes and solar panel exclusion mesh. Thermal imaging confirmed a substantial active roost prior to targeted control works. For pest control solutions or site assessments, contact Fleurieu Contract Shooting Services.
